Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This privacy policy explains how ParkingKong handles your personal data, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and national law in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
1. Data controller
ParkingKong is the data controller responsible for processing your personal data.
ParkingKong B.V., a private limited company (besloten vennootschap) with its registered seat in Eindhoven, Jan Olieslagersweg 4, 5657 EL Eindhoven, the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce no. 42153228). Email: privacy@parkingkong.com. For general enquiries: klantenservice@parkingkong.com.
2. What data do we collect?
Depending on how you use the platform, we process the following categories of personal data:
- Account and contact data: name, email address, phone number, password (encrypted);
- Booking data: licence plate, travel dates, chosen parking location and flight number (optional);
- Payment data: processed via our payment provider; we do not store full card details;
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser information and cookie IDs;
- Usage data: pages visited and actions on the website (anonymised where possible).
3. Purposes and legal bases
We process your data on the following legal bases under Article 6 GDPR:
- Performance of the contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): processing and confirming your booking and providing customer service;
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): for example the statutory retention of invoices;
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): security, fraud prevention and improving our services;
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): for analytics and marketing cookies and newsletters; you can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Retention periods
We do not keep your data longer than necessary:
- Booking and invoice data: 7 years (statutory tax retention);
- Account data: as long as your account is active, then deleted within 12 months;
- Analytics data: up to 26 months;
- Recorded cookie consent: up to 12 months.
5. Who do we share your data with?
We only share your data when necessary: with the parking provider at your chosen location, our payment provider and IT service providers that support our platform (as processors, under a data processing agreement).
We never sell your data to third parties. Where data is processed outside the European Economic Area, this is done only with appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
If you enter a Dutch licence plate when booking, we use only that plate to look up the make, model and colour of the vehicle in the public vehicle data of the RDW (the Dutch vehicle authority), so you do not have to enter them yourself. We send no other data with it and do not keep a record of the lookup.
When you ask Polar, our AI assistant, a question in the chat, we send what you type to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce the answer. We do not store the conversation; it only stays in your browser until you close the tab or clear the conversation. Do not enter personal data in the chat, such as your name, licence plate, booking number or payment details.
6. Cookies
We use necessary cookies (for the operation and security of the website), analytics cookies and marketing cookies.
We place analytics and marketing cookies only with your consent. You can change your preferences at any time via “Manage preferences” in the cookie banner.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the following rights:
- Right of access to your personal data;
- Right to rectification of inaccurate data;
- Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”);
- Right to restriction of processing;
- Right to object to processing;
- Right to data portability;
